Tam O’Shanter has been delighting diners for 100 years, and it’s Los Angeles’ oldest restaurant operated by the same family in the same location. Its historic rooms on Los Feliz Boulevard host birthdays, anniversaries, business functions, receptions and luncheons. Our delicious food, exceptional hospitality and historic venue are available during the day for parties of 20-200 guests. In the evenings, private dining rooms are available for up to 80 guests. Select one of our specially designed private party menus or work with our award-winning chefs to create a customized menu.

Dining Rooms
Bonnie Prince Charlie Room
Featuring a fireplace, period paintings and richly paneled walls, our most popular private room accommodates up to 65 guests and can be combined with the adjoining Atrium to seat up to 85.
Atrium
Greenhouse windows are the visual focal point of this intimate area with seating for as many as 20 guests.
Royal Guards Room
Appointed with a vintage leaded glass window and authentic artifacts of Scotland’s Royal Guards, this unique room is an ideal setting for business functions and receptions for up to 50 guests.
Patio
Our enchanting patio brings the charm of the Tam outdoors. This space features a vintage inspired fireplace and views of the bustling Los Feliz Blvd. The patio can accommodate 50 guests seated and 75 guests for a cocktail reception. When combined with the adjacent Garden, our outdoor area can accommodate up to 80 guests seated and 120 guests total.
Event Experiences
Make your event at the Tam one to remember with one of these experiences from our private events brochure:
- The Speakeasy: a private speakeasy experience in the Royal Guards Room for 8 to 30 guests, with live music, a curated cocktail menu and a private entrance. Book at least 30 days ahead.
- Table 31: a group experience built around Walt Disney’s favorite table, with stories from a Table 31 Ambassador and collectible souvenirs.
- Whisky tastings: led by our Whisky Ambassador and drawing on a collection of more than 700 whiskies, available as a private event or an add-on.
- Luncheon package: available from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m.
- Kids’ menu: for guests 12 and under.

Tam O’Shanter has audiovisual equipment for presentations and meetings, including:

The Tam doesn’t have speakers beyond the restaurant’s own sound system, but guests are welcome to bring a small wireless speaker.

How many guests can Tam O’Shanter host for a private event?
Parties of 20 to 200 guests during the day, and up to 80 guests in our private dining rooms in the evening. The patio and garden together hold up to 80 guests seated or 120 for a reception.
What private rooms does Tam O’Shanter have?
The Bonnie Prince Charlie Room (up to 65 guests, or 85 combined with the Atrium), the Atrium (up to 20), the Royal Guards Room (up to 50), and the Patio (50 seated or 75 for a cocktail reception; up to 80 seated or 120 total with the Garden).
Does Tam O’Shanter charge a room rental fee?
No. There are no venue or room rental fees.
Does Tam O’Shanter have AV equipment?
Yes: a pull-down projection screen, Epson projector, podium and conference phones. Guests are welcome to bring a small wireless speaker for additional audio.
Can we book a whisky tasting for our group?
Yes. Tastings are led by our Whisky Ambassador and can be booked as a private event or added to one.
Are vegan or gluten-free options available?
Yes. Vegan, dairy-free and gluten-free alternatives are available for most courses. Ask our Private Event Coordinator.
