Akaushi cattle were developed in Kuamoto, Japan to withstand the challenging climate and terrain, and the discriminating taste of Japanese consumers. A group of Texas ranchers were so impressed by the extraordinary characteristics of Akaushi cattle, they found a loophole in the trade act of 1992 that allowed them to bring a small group to the states. Because of full-blood Akaushi genetics and rigorous quality guidelines, the beef consistently yields prime quality grades and tender buttery flavors, and is considered by many experts to be the most delicious beef in the world.
